Welcome to Nordic Companion Dog

How It All Began

I grew up with Jimmy, our Australian Shepherd–Husky mix, who sparked my passion for sled dog sports at an early age

When I moved away from home at the age of 18, my wish to have a dog of my own grew stronger. Wolves had fascinated me since childhood. Their appearance, their elegance, their movement, simply everything about them. At the same time, I always understood that a wolf is a wild animal, not a domestic dog.

So I began looking for a dog that carried some of that original, wolf-like appearance.

One day, I came across an advertisement in the Swiss animal magazine TIERWELT with a headline that immediately caught my attention:

“Little Wolves for Sale”

Of course, they were not little wolves. But when we visited the litter, there really were eleven puppies sitting there that looked remarkably like little wolf pups. They were a mix of German Shepherd Dog and Czechoslovakian Wolfdog.

One of those puppies eventually came home with me and, although I could not have known it at the time, became the beginning of a long journey.

Over many years, we gained experience with different dogs, bloodlines and breeds. What began as a fascination gradually developed into a clear vision of what we wanted to achieve through breeding: not as much wolf as possible, but a healthy, well-balanced and reliable companion dog with an original, wolf-like appearance.

Over many years, generations and carefully considered breeding decisions, this vision gradually developed into what we today call the Nordic Companion Dog.

On this website, we would like to show you what we have achieved through many years of breeding: the Nordic Companion Dog as we know it today. We would like to introduce you to our dogs, share our philosophy and give you an insight into how we intend to continue its development in the future.

Welcome to our world.
